The death of Winnifred Dorothy Norma Ferguson occurred on Monday April 28th, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB.
Born in Nicosia, Cyprus November 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Robert William and Dorothy May (Kingsford) Clarke.
Norma is survived by her sons Brian (Manuella) of Guelph, ON, Michael (Georgina) of Ottawa, ON and Martin (Sarah) of Fredericton; grandchildren Ashley (Adrien), Craig, Malcolm and Geoffrey; a niece, Nicola and a nephew, Colin, both residing in the UK; as well as her special canine companions Becky and Alfie.
In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by her husband George Gordon Ferguson and a sister Jeanne and brother-in-law John Bullied.
Norma had a deep love for music and touched many lives through teaching piano and choir and wanted to say, ‘Thank you to all of the wonderful people young and old, who have made my life so rich and rewarding. Thank you for the gifts of love and music.’
The family would like to say a special thanks to all of the staff of Windsor Court Retirement Residence who have taken such loving care of Norma over the past 5 years, as well as to Dr. Achla Pond for her caring support.
In keeping with Norma’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place at 1 pm on Friday, May 16th, 2014 at Christ Church Cathedral with Archdeacon Patricia Drummond officiating.
