Maggie passed away suddenly on April 28, 2014 at her residence in Moose Jaw, SK, at the age of 78. She was predeceased by her husband Ervil (1997). Loving mother of Jean (Bill), Cindy (Earl), Debbie, Vicky (Robert), Jordan (Julie), and Kelly (Wanda), she was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Maggie is also survived by her sister Mary, and will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Maggie was born on August 18, 1935 to Paul and Marie Ofukany on the family farm near Tisdale, SK. At 18 she moved to Star City where she worked as a chambermaid and cook until she met her first husband Victor Labar. After Victor’s untimely passing in 1959, she met and married Ervil from Briercrest. It was there that the couple farmed and raised their children. They moved to Moose Jaw in approximately1983. After retirement, they enjoyed several years of travel. They loved their children and grandchildren, and also enjoyed their church family. After Ervil’s passing in 1997, Maggie continued to enjoy spending time with her family. When health concerns limited her driving, she took comfort in her bible, and watched church programs on TV. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Parkview Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 3:30 p.m. until the Funeral Service time at 5:00 p.m. Cecil Glover will officiate.
