The death occurred on February 22, 2014 at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home in O'Leary of Frances Porter Gaudet. She was in her 95th year.
She is survived by her sister Susan Gaudet of Saint Antoine, NB; her niece Donna Gaudet and her husband James in Anglo Tignish; her nephew Larry Gaudet and his family in Toronto; and her son Reg Porter in Belle River.
Frances Gaudet enjoyed life greatly, in spite of many cares and difficulties. She was an avid reader with a particular love for L M Montgomery's books and had a great appreciation of many kinds of music. She was a skilled seamstress and in her spare time loved to make patchwork quilts. Her most outstanding characteristics were her utter loyalty to her family and her readiness to help in any way possible. To the very end she loved, chided, cared and provided for those who meant everything to her.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Wanda Arsenault and Anne Marie McInnis who were constant companions in the last months of Frances' life. They also wish to thank the staff at the O'Leary Hospital and at the Ellis Home for their kindness and professional care.
The funeral and burial will take place on Friday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at Saint Simon and Saint Jude's church in Tignish.
