ALWARD, WILLIAM "BILL" - William “Bill” Daryl Alward, 73, of Elgin, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on May 3, 2014. Born in Havelock, he was a son of the late William and Jenny (nee Fowler) Alward. Bill really looked forward to visits from the kids; he also truly enjoyed nature: gardening, picking fiddleheads, fishing, hunting, birds (Bill rescued a few over the years). He is survived by his wife, Jean Alward; his daughters: Faith Comeau of Riverview, Cheryl Embree (Vince) of Penobsquis; his step-daughter Corina Harrison (Kevin) of Salisbury; his sons: Darrell Alward (Amanda) of Spruce Grove, AB, Trevor Alward of Brampton, ON, Billy-Joe Alward (Brandy) of Salisbury; his step-sons: Stephen Harrison (Lisa) of Riverview and Scott Harrison of Elgin; his brother, Harold Alward (Margaret) of Fawcett Hill; his sisters: Alta Burgess (Tom) of Havelock and Marguerite Corey of Moncton; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; as well as by many other extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Shellee Alward; his brothers: Lester and Donald; and by his faithful companion, Ben.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell St., Petitcodiac, from where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 6 to 9 pm.
