It saddens us to announce the passing of George William Wood of Red House Road on May 9, 2014, at 85 years of age, after a short battle with cancer. Born October 20, 1928 to the late Howard and Jessie Wood.
Husband of the late Elizabeth (Aitken) Wood. Loving father to Shelly (Ian) McClumpha. Loving grandfather to Keiran and Drew McClumpha. Dear brother of Mary Burke. He was predeceased by son, Wayne, and daughter, Heather, as well as sister, Ethel; brother, Errol (Betty); and brothers-in-law, Neil Nicholson, Sterling Burke and Billy Aitken.
Survived by his sisters-in-law, Betty (Townshend-Wood) Jay and Marguerite Aitken.
Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home for visitation on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Bay Fortune United Church on Monday afternoon, May 12, 2014 for funeral service to be celebrated at 2 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kings United Church General Fund or Souris Hospital would be appreciated.
