d'EON, Blanche Estelle, age 89, of Middle West Pubnico passed away Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Middle West Pubnico, she was a daughter of the late Landry and Mary Odelle (Surette) d'Eon. Blanche was a homemaker, a member of Les Nouveaux Horizons de la Baronnie, Les Dames de Ste Anne, Les Femmes Acadiennes and a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the West Pubnico Legion Branch 66, West Pubnico. Blanche was one of the first employees of Le Petit Courrier and was manager for two years. She loved being in her community with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Neil (Sheri); daughter, Simone, grandson, Gregory; and Brother, Maxime (Eleanor), all of Middle West Pubnico; sister, Rita Surette of Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle; sisters-in-law, Frances d'Eon of Swampscott, Mass; and Simone d'Eon of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her husband, Austere Joseph; son, Daniel in infancy; brother, Delphis; sisters, Elise Thompson and Julia Zampi. Visitation was held at West Pubnico Funeral Home Wednesday April 30th from 7-9 pm. A mass of Christian Burial took place in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico, on Thursday May 1st at 1 pm, Msgr Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Church Fund.
