HAMILTON-DAVIS, Gladys - of South Ohio passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on May 11, 2014. Born March 31, 1916 in Kemptville, NS; the daughter of Judson Goodwin Gray and Georgie Maude Hamilton Gray also of Kemptville. Gladys worked at the clothes pin factory in Carleton and also at Cosmos Imperial Mills, and for many years was the personal assistant and home maker tor the late Dr. Eleanor Porter. Gladys was predeceased by her first husband Eugene Richard Hamilton and a son Lindsay Roy Hamilton of the Royal Canadian Engineers, Gagetown, New Brunswick, she was also predeceased by sister Lena Leblanc (Dave) sister Dora Jeffery (Frank) sister Elsie Faulkner (Tom), sister Bertha Shand (Reg), brother Chester Gray (Bertha), brother Roy Gray (Marge) and son in-law George Saulnier. Gladys was married to husband Victor G. Davis of Rockville. Gladys and her husband Victor enjoyed a trip across Canada and across USA by motor home with daughter Carol and son-in-law Cameron. Gladys and Victor also traveled by tour bus to Nashvillle , Tennessee, where they attended the Grand Ole Oprey. Gladys also very much enjoyed line dancing under the direction of Dora Amirault for fifteen years. Gladys is survived by her husband Victor Davis, daughter Carol Saulnier-Davis (Cameron) , sister Georgie Durkee of Yarmouth, grandson Eugene Hayes (Linda), Lindsay Hayes (Andrea), Shelley Thibodeau, (Allan) and her great grand children Alex (Kristen) and Amy (Ashley), Tyler (Chelsea) and Coady (Sarah) Thibodeau, Janna and Ashlee Hayes and great- great grandchildren Faith Hayes and Lukas Hayes. Step children Charlotte Williams (Tom) East Bridgewater, Mass; and Patricia Noble (Eric) Hiram, Maine; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Arrangements were entrusted to Sweenys Funeral Home and Crematorium. Visitation was held Thursday May 15 from 7-9 pm from Sweenys Funeral Chapel. Funeral service was held at Beacon United Church at 2pm on Friday May 16, 2014, Rev. AD (Bill) Newell and Pastor Joey Ring officiated with burial in the Carleton Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation and to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
