Elaine Margaret Croken-McCourt
Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Prince County Hospital on Thursday, May 15, 2014 of Elaine Margaret Croken-McCourt (nee Hammill) in her 83rd year.
Born in Lower Freetown on January 21, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Redverse Patrick Hammill and Mary Eva (Dawson) Hammill.
Beloved wife of the late Lloyd McCourt and the late Pius Croken. Dear mother of Alfred (Louise), Long Creek; Danny of Emerald; Leonard of Edmonton, Alberta; Elmer (Lorna), Emerald; and Paul (Heather), Emerald.
Besides her parents, Elaine is predeceased by sons, Robert and Wilfred; an infant son, Ronnie; brothers, Gordon (Gen), Fr. Preston; and sister, Freda Smith (Wilfred).
Survived by brothers, Eric (Helen) Hammill, Edwin (Joan) Hammill and Elmer (Mary) Hammill. Also survived by a daughter-in-law, Una, of Hampshire; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Visiting hours Sunday, May 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 19, at St. James Church, Summerfield. Interment in the parish cemetery.
