Kathleen 'Kaye' MacNeil

It is with profound sorrow that the family of the late Kathleen (Laphen) (Poirier) MacNeil announce her recent passing at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
Kaye was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Kaye lived a long and joyful life surrounded by the love of family and friends. Family was of utmost importance to Kaye and she celebrated their accomplishments with great pride. She was an excellent cook and baker and entertained many providing great meals and good conversation.
Kaye was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Daley) and Joseph Laphen.
She was predeceased by husbands, John Poirier and Walter MacNeil; sons, Billy (in infancy) and John (Jack) Poirier; brother, Fred Laphen; sisters, Rita Penny and Rosemary Ihasz. Kaye is also predeceased by her beloved fur baby Sandi.
Kaye is survived by her children, Joanne (Ed) O’Toole, Mississauga, Rosemary (Reg) Smith, Truro, Hugh (Michelle) MacNeil, Sydney, Kathy MacNeil, New Glasgow and daughter-in-law Joanne Poirier, Sydney.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Visitation for the late Kaye MacNeil will be held 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, May 22 at St Theresa’s Church in Sydney. Rev. Jim Oliver will officiate. A reception will follow the service in the reception room at T. W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
