We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Bryne Joseph MacArthur at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 with his family by his side.
Born and raised in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Bryne was the beloved son of Mary Jessie (MacIsaac) MacArthur and the late Archie Edward MacArthur.
Bryne is survived by his mother; brothers Edward (Margaret), East Bay; Daniel (Ruth), Coxheath and sisters Penny, at home; Clara (Sandy) MacNeil, Sydney and Velma Gillis, Dutch Brook. He is also survived by his children Michael and Michelle and their families. Bryne also has nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved and cared for deeply.
He was predeceased by his father, his sister Ann and niece Heather Gillis.
Bryne worked as a Red Seal carpenter. He loved to work around trucks and cars and has a passion for animals, especially ‘Blackie’.
At Bryne’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony Daniel Church with Rev. Dwayne Devereaux officiating. Interment in St. Margaret’s Parish Cemetery, Grand Mira, Cape Breton, NS.
Thanks to nurses, doctors and staff at 4C for their kind help, support and special care. Special thanks to Dr. MacKillop, words cannot express our gratitude to Dr. Ann Frances D’Intino and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit, your kindness will always be remembered.
