HASSON, ALLAN RICHARD - The death of Allan Richard Hasson of Central Hamstead occurred on May 30, 2014. Born in Queenstown, NB on November 5, 1943, Allan was the loving husband of Grace (Cooper) for 51 years, father to Mark Hasson of Edmonton, AB and Deborah McAllister Queenstown, NB, grandfather to Cynthia (Mike Moreau) and Christine McAllister and the sparkle of his eye, great-granddaughter Isabelle Moreau. Allan is also survived by his brother Brian (Rita) Hasson of Legal, AB and sister Linda Richard of Saint John, NB, aunts, cousins, a niece and several nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Oswald and Olive (Lacey) Hasson, sister and brother-in-law Amy and Robert Sutton, niece Wendy Garnett and son-in-law Brian McAllister. Allan was a 50 year member of the LOL#112 of Queenstown, Past Grand Master of the Grand Orange Lodge of NB and Past Grand Master of the Royal Black Knights of NB. He was an active member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church and the Parish of Gagetown. He worked at many jobs, in the woods, picking apples and at Slipps’s Farm Ltd. until his retirement at which time he took up weaving for the Loomcrofters of Gagetown. Allan loved his sports and enjoyed watching many games on TV. He also enjoyed attending the card games in the community but most of all he enjoyed time with his family.
Public visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. The funeral will be held at St. Stephen Anglican Church in Queenstown, NB at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery with a reception to follow at the Orange Lodge Hall.
