It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Gordon Hicks, 75 of Amherst on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Gables Lodge surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 5, 1939 in Sackville, NB, he was a son of the late Dorothy Elizabeth Hicks.
Jim was involved in sales and purchasing departments throughout his working life.
In his spare time he enjoyed playing his guitar, woodworking, astronomy, reading and sharing his knowledge with his family and friends. The most cherished moments were spent with family, especially the grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sue (Miller); sons, Colin (Carolyn), Norton, NB, and Jason (Leigh-Ann), Amherst; grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Rebeccah, Samantha, Nathalie, Jeremiah, Nathaniel and Chase and his mother, Janet; great grandchildren, Joelle and Gabrielle; and extended family.
A celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 between the hours of 2-4 pm in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in Jim’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
