Kenneth passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Moose Jaw on May 28, 2014. He was born in Oxbow, SK on May 20, 1945. Ken was the youngest child born to Almond Dunbar and Alvina Bernice Bishop. Ken went to school in Oxbow Marconi country school and then to high school in the town of Oxbow. His highlight and favorite teacher was Mrs. McGuire. He took his first job with a local farmer by the name of Tom Grandee and helped with the family on the farm until he was in his late teens. He met and married Charlotte Hine of Alida, and had 3 children together, Valarie, Gordon, and Thomas. At that time he was a truck driver and travelled a lot. His job took him many places. Ken was a man of many trades and many strengths. He was a man with a very big heart and loved so many people so very much. His most recent love was Wendy McLaren and her close family. He resided in Moose Jaw with her where they lived together for over 3 years. Ken was predeceased by his parents and oldest brother William, who they lovingly called Bill or Willy, many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children, many grandchildren, and older siblings, Dorothy, Margret and Alfred. Ken will be missed profusely by all who loved him. Keep on truckin’ “Dad”. A Gathering to Celebrate Ken’s life will be held at Timothy Eaton Gardens, 510 Main St. N., on Thursday June 5, 2014 from 1:30 – 4:00 pm, with words of tribute at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. In living memory of Ken, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
