Margaret Mary  McManaman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Mary McManaman, age 67 of Amherst on Saturday morning may 31, 2014 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family.
Born August 9, 1946 in Amherst, Maggie was a daughter of the late Arthur and Slyvia (Commeau) Arsenault.
Known for her commitment to charity, it was Marg’s wish that her remains be donated to Medical science in hope that it would help others.
Maggie brought smiles and comfort to many, both when welcoming guests at home and through her many years serving customers. She always kept the coffee topped up and brightened their days with her warm and cheerful disposition.
Maggie’s large and generous heart will be sadly and lovingly remembered by her husband Carl; daughters Debbie (Brian) Devlin, Michelle (Pete) Small and Patti (Mike) Leclerc, all of Edmonton, AB; her son, Cecil Carter of Amherst; step children, Vicky McManaman, Vancouver, BC, Ann McManaman, Winnipeg, MB, Jerry McManaman, and Michael (Tanya) McManaman both of Amherst. Loved by all children, Maggie will also be remembered by her grandchildren Jennifer, Amanda, Peter, Jasmine, Jennifer, Addison, Rushawn, Lisa, Nicholas, Cooper, Dylan, Vanessa, Michael, and Aaralyn. As well numerous great grandchildren; sisters Theresa Arsenault and Dianne Carter both of Amherst; brothers Frank, Oshawa, ON and Ronald, Toronto, ON as well as several nieces, nephews cousins and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Freddie and David.
A memorial service will celebrate her life on Saturday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Captain Chad Ingram officiating. Reception will follow.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gradstein and the many nurses from the V.O.N. for the remarkable care they gave Margaret.
Memorial contributions in Maggie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Dalhousie Department of Medical Neuroscience.
