It is with saddened hearts that we the family announce sudden passing of Mary MacNeil, at home on Monday, June 2, 2014.
Born in Sydney, she is the daughter of the late Colin and Ann (Cholock) MacNeil.
Mary graduated from Holy Angels High School in 1981, then went on to complete her business degree at Cape Breton Business College. After completing her degree, Mary was employed with Immigration Canada, until leave due to illness.
Mary is survived by her beloved son Brennen MacKinnon; sisters, Colleen (Harold) Shaheen, Linda (Phillip) MacLeod she is also survived by nieces, Maria and Andrea Shaheen and Christina MacLeod.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister Clare (Anita) MacNeil on May 9, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory can be made to the Memorial Trust fund for her son Brennen.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014, from 1-2 p.m. in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Fr. Lloyd Dwyer officiating. Interment to take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
