James “Fraser” Cameron, age 68 of Thorburn, passed away unexpectedly, May 30th, 2014 at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late John Merton and Jessie Catherine (Greene) Cameron.
In earlier years Fraser and his wife Linda had owned and operated Bluenose Catering. They later moved to Ontario where he operated a grader and worked as a truck driver for Sears and Eaton’s. Fraser returned to Pictou County 11 years ago. He was a member of Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by sisters: Diane Poirier, Mississauga, Ontario; Marilyn Cameron, Etobicoke, Ontario; Kathy (Jim) Corbett, Bradford, Ontario; Debbie Cameron, Etobicoke, Ontario; sister-in-law Dianne (Ed) Schneider, Bobcaygeon, Ontario; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Linda, brother Jackie, brothers-in-law Bob and Cyril.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery.
