Burris, Kevin Stewart, 57, Truro, passed away surrounded by family on June 8, 2014 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro he was the son of the late Douglas and Catherine (MacFadyen) Burris. Kevin was employed by Basin Paving for seven years. Prior to this he worked for several farmers in the Truro area. He loved to fish and loved animals and often volunteered for the SPCA. Kevin loved his weekend road trips. People never knew where he would call them from on these trips. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Shaw); daughter, Brenda (Craig) Shearer, Truro; grandsons, Brayden and Caleb; sisters, Rhonda (Kerry), Brentwood, Brenda, Brookfield; brothers, Leroy (Debbie), Hilden, Rodney (Kathy), Brookfield, Derrick (Lucy), Middle Stewiacke, Wyman, South Branch, Darrell (Faye), Bible Hill; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Roland and Timothy and brother-in-law, Miles Pellerine. A gathering for friends and family to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held on Thursday, June 12th from 6 – 8 p.m. at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
