GALLANT, LUCIE - Lucie Gallant, 93, of Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche and formerly of Cocagne, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her residence. Born on October 22, 1920 in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Arcade and Lydie (LeBlanc) Léger. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be lovingly remembered for making the best “Poutines Rapêes” in Kent County. She will be sadly missed by her four daughters: Marie-Germaine Richard (Rick) and Corinne Gauvin both of Moncton, Murielle Breau (Léonard) and Maria Daine (Dave Cormier) both of Cocagne; seven sons: Jean Paul and Louis (Maureen) both of Halifax, NS, Gérard (Yvette) and Terrence (Gisele) both of Cocagne, Gérald of Toronto, ON, Rhéal of Moncton and Maurice (Thérèse) of Shippagan; one sister, Blanche Goguen of Moncton; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Jean Pierre Gallant; four sisters: Aline, Sr. Germaine n.d.s.c., Aurore and Emilia; six brothers: Alphonse, Aquila, Henri, Edmond, Joseph and Francis; one daughter-in-law, Louisa (2012).
The family will receive condolences at St-Pierre-de-Cocagne slumber room, 2000, Route 535, Cocagne, on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral at 11am. Interment will be in St-Pierre Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cocagne. In memory of Lucie, a contribution to the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche would be appreciated.
