DRAKE
Dale Edward Drake, aged 74 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away suddenly and peacefully at home, with family by his side, on Wednesday, June 11th, 2014. He was born in Moose Jaw to William and Chelta Drake (nee Gettins). Dale’s love of farming and work years evolved around many major plumbing jobs across Saskatchewan, and finally in 1991, Dale worked at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital until his retirement in 2005. Farming, working with his draft horses and doing chores gave him great pleasure, as well as many family get-togethers. Selling the farm in 2012 and moving to Moose Jaw allowed him some freedom to travel. Dale will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 24 years, Marg; sons, Steve (Clair) Drake and Tim Drake of Moose Jaw; daughter, Sarah Drake of Moose Jaw; step-daughter, Pam Fortin of Moose Jaw; step-son, Kerry (Angie) Easterby of Moose Jaw; sister, Lorraine (Allan) Bumphrey of Regina; brother, Bert (Leita) Drake of Moose Jaw; sister, Jeannette Cheater of Regina; sister, Helen (Wayne) Richardson of Maple Creek; brother, Larry (friend Janet) of Moose Jaw; brother, Rod (Margie) Drake of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Katie, Brittany, Courtney, Zachary, Meagan, Ryan, Danielle, Tyler, Matthew, Cassandra, Sommer, Grace, Lisa and Raelyn; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Karianna and Chloe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Pam (step-daughter) and Angie (daughter-in-law) for the countless hours of help and support throughout his illness. Also, thank you to all of the Home Care and Palliative Care staff who assisted with his care. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 16th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Ron Silvester officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dale’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK S4P 2R3. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
