It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather and friend, Luke Ralph Park, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 55 years, Marie (nee Brake); children: Kerry, Guy, Dianne (Brian Forrest), Anita (Darren Park) and Lyndon (Sherri Tiller); grandchildren: Shoorah, Joshua, Sarah, Christopher, Thomas and Shelby. He will be sadly missed by brothers: Richard (Ethel), Wallace (Regina); sisters: Madeline (Howard Swyer), Laverne, Irene (Spencer House), Beverley (David Touchings); brothers-in-law: Bertram Burridge, Charles Brake (Dinah), Cal Brake (Joan), Utley Brake (Maggie), Vernon Brake (Myrtle), Baxter Brake (Loretta); sisters-in-law: Whyona White, Elizabeth White, Dawn Hickey (Art), Susanne Neibauer (Ken), Lulabelle Noseworthy (Joe) and a larger circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends at Partridgeberry Point. Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Diana; mother-in-law, Annie; father-in-law, Clayton; sister, Linda; brothers-in-law: Edmund Blanchard, Austin White, William White and sister-in-law, Melba Lewis. Visitation at St. James Anglican Church, Gillams, Saturday, June 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service and celebration of his life on Monday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Malcolm Palmer officiating. Private family burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
