Joan Warren

WARREN, JOAN - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joan M. Warren of the Jordan Lifecare Center at the Moncton City Hospital on June 14, 2014. Born in Pollett River on May 23, 1939 she was the only daughter of the late Alden and Myrtle (nee Kaye) Douthwright. Joan is survived by her two daughters: Mary Lou Warren Lewis (Jeff) of Riverview and Susan Lynn Killam (Brent) of Lewis Mountain; three loved and cherished grandchildren: Brett Lewis and Marissa and Natasha Killam; her six brothers: Byron (Sheila) of Five Points, Dale (Pat) of Pollett River, Rae (Margie) of Intervale, Laurie of Moncton, Ivan of Pollett River and Allen of Petitcodiac; as well as five nieces and extended family. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her loving husband Sheldon Warren (2012) and by her brother Vaughn (1967). Joan was a retired teacher, having taught at Allison, Gunningsville, Elgin and Petitcodiac Primary. She was a member of the Forest Glen Baptist Church for 58 years and served as treasurer for 36 years. She also attended The Glades Baptist Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac from where visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm. A graveside service will be held at the New Elgin Cemetery on June 17, 2014 at 11:00am with Rev. David Evans presiding. Donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital, I.W.K, the New Elgin Cemetery or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. On-line condolences are available at www.armstrongsfh.com
