Mildred Colpitts

COLPITTS, MILDRED - Mildred Ione Colpitts (nee Harrison) of Rothesay, NB passed away peacefully on June 15, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Saint John, NB. Mildred moved with her husband Cecil to Rothesay in August 2003 after living in Moncton for over sixty years. Millie was so happy to live in Rothesay, close to her son Clint and family. Millie was the daughter of the late Nathan and Minnie Harrison (Marshall) and was married to her beloved husband Cecil for 72 years. Millie was a wonderful cook, and spent her younger years cooking on the Colpitts farm in Colpitts Settlement where she met Cecil. Many have enjoyed her home made biscuits and date squares. She was both a devoted wife and mother. Millie was all about family and knew so much about her family history. We considered her the family historian as she was the oldest living Harrison. Millie was a member of the Hillside Baptist church near Elgin since she was a young girl. Millie is survived by her husband Cecil, one son Clinton (Bonnie) of Quispamsis, grandchildren Krista MacMillan (Steve), Kelly Madore (Jeff), great-grandchildren Matthew MacMillan, Sarah MacMillan and Benjamin Turnbull. She is also survived by her sisters Kathleen Bannister and Myra Shaffer. Besides her parents she was pre deceased by her brothers Alfred Harrison, Eddie Harrison and sisters Amy Colpitts and Ella Nowlan. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Millie’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. For those who wish a donation can be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation or a Charity of your choice. Many thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s hospital, for the wonderful care and kindness that Millie received over the past six months. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530. The family invites you to send online condolences to www.fairhavenmemorial.ca
