Margie (Copeland) Wadden, 86, passed away peacefully at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, surrounded by her family. Margie was the beloved wife of the late Willie Wadden.
Born in Glace Bay and a longtime resident of Lake Road, she was the daughter of the late David and Annie (Buchanan) Copeland.
Margie lived life to the fullest and was always ready to have fun. Skating, dancing, swimming, bowling, painting, singing with the Coal Town Chorus, cross country skiing and making her family and friends smile often were some of her favourite things. She will forever be an inspiration to us and we will miss her dearly.
Margie is survived by her sister, Jessie Burns, Vancouver, B.C.; daughters, Brenda (Bob) Foley, Parrsboro, Cathy (Murray) Hill, Pictou, and Tracey (Joe) Latulippe, Glace Bay; sons, David (Carol) Wadden, Truro, and Barry (Wilma) Wadden, Glace Bay. Margie leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Wadden and a brother, David 'Copie' Copeland.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, on Friday, June 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral service will take place at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Glace Bay, on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Allan MacLellan officiating; followed by a reception in the church. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Family flowers only please. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Seaview Manor which has been Margie's home for the past eight years or the charity of your choice.
