April 27, 1929 - June 22, 2014 - Thomas (Tom) Costello of Avondale passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Center on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Son of Thomas and Agnes Costello, Tom was a devoted brother to Michael, Daniel, Catherine (Kit), Pauline (all deceased), surviving sisters, Anne Doyle and Genevieve Lambe. Dad is reunited with the love of his life, Kay (August 12, 2011) and his precious children Adrian, Harold, and Debbie. Left to mourn his loss and celebrate his life are sons Tom (Julia), Eugene (Sandra), Tony (Jackie), Barry (Elizabeth); daughters Barbara, Sharon (Harold), Genny (Robert); beloved grandchildren Matthew, Jennifer (Gerry), Stewart (Marion), Sheri, Janice, Michael (Bobbi), Ryan, Emily, Stephanie (William), Shane, Samantha, and Maggie; great-grandchildren Madison, Abigail, Emma, and Hailey; sisters-in- law Esther Costello, Rita (Ned Wall), many nieces and nephews, his lifetime friends Frank and Helene Doyle and neighbours who were always there, Terry and Ann Wade. Dad was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus (Cabot Council 6001 and Cabot Assembly) and was a Deputy Sheriff with the Province of NL for 24 years. He was the constant pillar of strength and faith for his family and it is this strength that will sustain us all in the days ahead. Resting at Dunphy's Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 7 - 9 pm and on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 2 - 9 pm. Funeral will take place at 11:30am on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 with Mass of Christian Burial from Assumption Church, Avondale. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Avondale.
