Stephen Brining

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stephen Brining who was born in Toronto Ont. to Henry Arthur and Joan (Pugh) Brining announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on June 22, 2014 at the age of 66 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Heidi and son Thomas of Stephenville Crossing, brother John Brining in Ajax, Ontario, sister Wendy Penny (Larry) in Stouville, Ontario, nieces and nephews: Heather Gaudin, Leslie Wolfenburg, Kathy and Michael Brining, Jacob and Lilly Wells, in-laws Don and Elsie Wells, brother-in-law Tom Wells (Lisa), cousin Robert and Linda Hill in Hamilton, Ontario and a large circle of friends. Steve’s greatest joy was becoming a dad at 59. He valued this role with more pride than any other. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Steve was committed to Thomas and worked diligently to instill in him the same values that were evidenced in his own life; a love of people, a love of books and a devotion to God. Steve will be remembered for his great sense of wit and eagerness to debate. His favorite topics were religion and politics but he was in no way limited to them. Steve embraced all people and had a personality that knew no generation gap. Whether you were 6 or 96 he was interested in your day regardless of his own circumstances. We will miss his boisterous laugh and his generous bear hugs. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Zion Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the Hillside Interfaith cemetery on the Hansen Highway, Stephenville. Friends may sign the online guestbook by visiting www.russellsfuneralhome.ca. In Steve’s honor, donations can be made to the Youth Ministries at Zion Pentecostal Church, Stephenville, NL.
