Passed suddenly away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Monday, June 23, 2014, Capt. Paul Rodgers of Carbonear, age 64 years. Predeceased by parents: Maxwell and Helen Grace; sister: Sophie; brothers: David and Lindow; mother-in-law: Helen Samson. Left to mourn, wife: Kay; two sons: Chris (Tammy) and PJ (Janice), both of Carbonear; four grandchildren: Maddison, Katie, Rachel and Max; father-in-law: Edward Samson, St. John’s; four brothers-in-law: Clarence (Sophie, deceased) Sweetland, New Brunswick, Edward (Beverley) Samson, Conception Bay South, Jerry Samson, Carbonear and David Samson (Shirley), Heart’s Content; four sisters-in-law: Betty Pike (Will), Carbonear, Martha Samson, St. John’s, Audrey (Derek) Pitcher, Heart’s Content and Emily Samson, Toronto, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Linda Pike conducted the Funeral service on Friday, June 27 from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
