Marian Holden

HOLDEN, MARIAN - Marian Holden (Babiuk - Kordich), of Gagetown, NB slipped away peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on June 17, 2014, at age 86. Born in Edmonton, AB on December 15, 1927, Marian was the eldest daughter of Jean (Gordey) and the late Kris Babiuk. With her love of people and many interests (animals, nature, travel, painting, music, sewing, writing, genealogy, cooking and entertaining) Marian had a blessed and adventurous life. She travelled extensively and lived in Willingdon, Ryley and Edmonton, AB; South America; Ottawa; Victoria and Nanaimo, BC and, finally, Fredericton and Gagetown, NB. Marian is survived by her loving children Barbara (Dwight Crandall); Betty (Dave Andrew); John (Julie Jusypowycz); as well as grandchildren Nigel (Mary), Kyla, Donat, Dion (Mindy), Jackie, Tyler, Jesse, Kristal (Ely), Isaac and Zane. In addition to her mother, Marian leaves brother Allen (Dee) Babiuk; sister Deanna (Jim) Robertson and sisters-in-law Mary McKee and Donna Kordich; also many Gordey, Babiuk and Kordich family members … dearly loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by step-son Derek (Eileen) Holden; step-daughter Wendy Holden and their families. Aside from her father, Marian was predeceased by sister Barbara, daughter Adele, her first love, husband Tony Kordich; and last love in her life, husband Maurice (Bill) Holden. The family wishes to thank Orchard View and the community of Gagetown for their special care and concern, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at Oromocto Public Hospital - Med 1 for their wonderful support in helping Marian on her final journey.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and interment will take place in Edmonton, AB at a later date. Donations in Marian’s memory may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of Canada or Humane Society.
