DeVerne Cronkhite

CRONKHITE, DeVERNE RONALD - DeVerne R. Cronkhite, formerly of Middle Southampton, NB, passed away June 25, 2014 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. DeVerne was born at Middle Southampton, NB in 1925, a son of the late Frank and Violet (Wright) Cronkhite. He is survived by four daughters, Rhonda Tardif, Tracyville, NB, Gwendolyn MacPherson (Rocky), Kingston, ON, Paulette Marriott (Bob), Falmouth, NS and Violet Paisley (Andrew), Victoria Corner, NB; a son, Frank Cronkhite (Pamela), Upper Queensbury, NB; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Cronkhite and Phylena Drost (George); four sisters-in-law, Betty Cronkhite, Maisie Crain, Evelyn Crain, Phyllis Crain; three brothers-in-law, Perley Crain, Frank Crain (Gail) and Paul Crain (Louise); several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Edith (Crain) Cronkhite; two sons-in-law, George Woodworth and Don Tardif; his siblings, Miriam Drost, Nina Cronkhite, Christina Brooks, Darrell, Arleigh and Frankie Cronkhite and infant Paul.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Frank Cronkhite and Rev. Ivan Carr officiating. Interment at Lenentine Cemetery.
