GILLESPIE, NEIL - Neil Gillespie, 85, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, June 8, 2014. Neil was born in May 1929 to Ernest and Valentine (McLaughlin) Gillespie. Neil worked for over 40 years with C.N. Telegrams, and lived for many decades in his home on Danforth Street with his sister, Patricia. He enjoyed woodworking, hiking and camping, and took pride in his Irish heritage and his New Brunswick roots. Neil was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Valentine; brothers, Gene, John and Ken; and sisters, June and Patricia. Neil is survived by his nieces, Colleen and Karen; nephew, Michael; and sister-in-law, Helen. Neil's family would like to extend its deep appreciation to everyone who played a supportive role in his life. Special thanks to: Neil's family physician, Dr. Charest, the care team at K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, the staff at the Moncton Hospital and Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, and the Leger and Allain families.
Visitation will be at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday, July 2, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:30 pm, with Father Allison Carroll officiating. There will be a reception in the funeral home Reception centre following the service. Interment, Shediac Road Cemetery.
