New Glasgow : Edwin Munroe Fraser age 88 of New Glasgow passed away peacefully on Thursday June 26th ,2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital ,New Glasgow; surrounded by family.
He was a soft spoken and loving family man. Who’s kind and generous soul will be greatly missed.
Born in Little Harbour he was a son of the late John and Ruth (Munroe) Fraser.
Edwin was a member of RCAF from 1951-1956 at which time he learned his trade as a machinist .
Edwin worked as a machinist with Trenton Industries and later at Maritime Steel from where he retired.
He was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church New Glasgow.
Edwin was a devoted sports fan especially supporting the Boston Red Soxs and the Toronto Maple Leafs .
In earlier years he was an avid bowler having bowled in the Main Street Bowling League.
Surviving are his wife the former Mary Somerville
A daughter ; Cathy (Walter) Larkin of New Glasgow
His grandchildren Ashley and Alex
Sisters: Isabel Laister of Ontario
Margie Johnston of Thorburn
A brother George (Joan) Fraser of Truro
Sister-in-law Gladys Fraser of Hantsport
Several nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his sister & brother –in-law Helen and Clary Walters
Brothers : Marshall Fraser and Donald Fraser
Brothers-in-law : Vernon Laister
Raymond Johnston
Nephew : Donald Fraser
The family will receive visitors from 2-4& 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday July 2nd in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 3rd at 11 A.M. from the H.W.Angus Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Keith Humphrey officiating.
A reception will follow the service in the funeral home.
Family flowers only please.
Donations in memory of Edwin may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Intensive Care Unit , Respiratory Therapy Dept.
Dr. Gregor MacLean , Dr. Farrell , Dr. Aires , Debbie Williams & Rhonda Langille VON continuing care , for their care and compassion.
