Born on January 24, 1930 in Chipman, NB, he was the son of Samuel Ernest and Daisy Violet (Fairweather) Demmings. His career took him to Saint John; Sydney, NS; Gander, NL and then to Fredericton. He retired in 1985 and has enjoyed a good and full life. Dad loved to have his family close to him and our times together were filled with much fun and laughter. In 1953, Dad became a member of the Masonic Lodge and went on to become a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. He joined Luxor Shriners with his son, Donald in 1985, followed by his son Dana in 2011. Dad was proud to be a bagpiper and played with the Caledonia Pipe Band in Saint John and then for many years with the Fredericton Society of St. Andrews Pipe Band. In addition to our Mom, Dad is survived by we, his three children Penny Demmings , Dana Demmings (Marie Clohosy), and Don Demmings (Julie Benoit); four grandchildren Samantha (Demmings) Kochhar (Krishan), Clayton Demmings, Eric and Luc Jaillet and great-grandson Harrison Kochhar; brother Lloyd Demmings (Thelma), sister Mary West (Keith) and several precious nieces and nephews.
