Arnold McKinnon, of Lake Road, Glace Bay, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Glace Bay Healthcare Facility after losing his battle to cancer.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Rannie and Mary (Farrell) McKinnon.
For 17 years, Arnold was meat cutter at Shores Food Fair, before operating Judy’s Restaurant from which he retired in 1995. He was also an avid bowler.
Surviving are his wife, Judy (MacLeod); daughters, Sheila MacKinnon and Colette (Frank) Martin, both of Glace Bay; son, Michael (Annie), Coldbrook, N.S.; brother, Terry (Joan), Ottawa, Ont.; brother-in-law, Dennis Roach, New Waterford; grandchildren, Holly, Hannah, Kenna, Elysia and Graham. His favourite cats, Messie and Puddin will miss him dearly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Arnold was predeceased by his sister, Lavinia and brothers, Ronnie and Lester.
By his request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at their residence, 220 Lake Rd., Glace Bay, on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
