It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Pike announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the age of 80 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth (nee Brake); children: James (Barbara), Corner Brook, Elizabeth (Merlin Landry), Ft. McMurray, AB, Robert, Berwick, NS, Peggy (Shawn Breen), Peace River, AB, Christine Gripton, Sackville, NB, and Melissa (Steve MacDonald), Ft. McMurray, AB; grandchildren: Joshua (Stacey), Stephanie (Alex Donald), Jonathan, Meaghan, Kathleen, Luke McDonald, Louise McDonald, Michael McDonald, Amy Gripton, Rosasharon Gripton, and Tina Gripton; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Carol Anne (Stu Weldon); brothers: Ern (Ev), Claude (Grace), and Ron (Bernadette), as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents Margaret and Alex; son-in-law Rev. Jamie Gripton; mother-in-law and step father-in-law Ivy and George Penney, and brother-in-law Jim Penney. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Wednesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer Parish on Mt. Bernard Avenue with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
