Gerald "Gerry" Cormier

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Cormier announce his passing at his residence on Sunday June 29th 2014 at the age of 92 years. Gerald served his country in two wars, WWII and the Korean War. He will be sadly missed by his partner Dola Jason, his daughter Kay Tate in Scotland, his son Graham (Kimberley) Rex in St. John’s, and his brother Adolph (Marlene) in Stephenville. He will also be remembered by his stepchildren; Ron (Lonnie) Jason in Stephenville, Gus Jason in McKays, Barbara Jason in Stephenville, Cindy (Jerome) Hynes in Stephenville, Kathleen (Heber) Jason-Stratton in Corner Brook, Vicky Jason (Barclay) in Kitchener ON, Sylvia Jason (Cyril) in Stephenville and Tom Jason (Lori) in Stephenville along with a large circle of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Narcis and Catherine Cormier, brothers; Joe, Hubert, Larry, Jack and Little Hubert, sisters; Maggie Cormier, Anne Cormier Quint, Barbara Cormier Lawlor Stephanie Cormier, Vera Cormier O’Leary, Bedilia Cormier Delaney and Madeline Cormier White. Funeral services will take place on Friday July 4th 2014 at 10 am from St. Stephen’s Parish on West Street with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Cremation to take place after the funeral service. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
