BREWER, LAYNE ARNOLD - Layne A. Brewer of Zealand, NB passed away June 29, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Layne was born at Zealand, NB in 1944, a son of the late Hazen and Glenna (Estey) Brewer. Layne loved the outdoors, four-wheeling and fishing. He was an avid TV bingo player. Layne is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Janet Mary Clare (Guitard) Brewer; a step-son, Peter Blair (Stacy) of Airdrie, AB; three grandchildren, Natasha, Matthew and Joseph Blair; two sisters, Myrna Wilson of Fredericton, NB and Marilyn McCarty (Robert) of Keswick Ridge, NB; two brothers, Monty Brewer (Wanda) and Richard Brewer (Dolores), both of Zealand, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by seven brothers, Keith, Steadman, Carl, Randy, Paul, Gerald and Murray; six sisters, Joyce, Wanda, Norma Gene, Carolyn, Thelma and Evelyn; his step-daughter, Mary Janet Hicks and her husband, Nathan.
Visiting hours will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church Hall, 1407 Route 104, Zealand, NB on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:00 am from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Zealand, NB, with Archdeacon John Sharpe officiating. Interment at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery.
