MacDONALD, MARY - It is with great sadness that the family of Mary R. (O'Keefe) MacDonald announces her passing which occurred on Friday, June 27, 2014, with her loving family by her side. Born in Fairville, NB, on April 7, 1934 to the late Matthew and Mary Jane (Clark) O'Keefe. Mary served with the RCAF in the early fifties up until she married and started her family. Mary was an avid curler with many years at the Beausejour Curling Club and joined many bowling leagues as well. She loved needlepoint, crochet, reading, crossword puzzles and of course her favourite TV channel, TCM. Mary is survived by her sons, Ronald (Shan), David and Ian (Megan); daughters, Patricia MacDonald, Jane (Mike) Pageau and Karen (Mark) Halcovitch, grandchildren, Megan, Andrew, Colleen, Kirsten, Trevor, Jessica and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Liam, Grace, Elizabeth, Jayden, Lex, Noel and Brooklyn; one sister, Margaret Allen; and one brother, Ronald O'Keefe; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, William (2012); sons, Donald and Kenneth, sisters, Katherine, Doreen and Jean; and brothers, Thomas and George. The family wishes to express many thanks to the nurses and staff of the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor for their loving care of Mom.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service; a private family service will be held. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Salvation Army or to a charity of the donor's choice.
