STEIN, BARBARA DAWN “BARBIE” - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Barbara Dawn Stein of Grand Manan which occurred at the Grand Manan Hospital on Sunday, June 29, 2014 with her family at her side. Barb was born in Saint John April of 1949 to the late Frank and Ina (Sinton) Wharton. Barb is survived by her loving and devoted spouse of 26 years Eric O’Neill; three children who she raised and loved dearly son Douglas Stein Jr.; daughters Heather Worden (Blair) and Krista Arseneault (Ted) all of Saint John; three precious grandsons Sean-Douglas, Tyler and Connor for whom she loved with all of her heart; special step-granddaughter Hailey; three sisters, one brother; nieces, nephews and friends. She was adored and loved by her family and friends. Besides her parents, Barb was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. Many would remember her smiling face as she worked at Smitty’s Restaurant for many years as a waitress. Others may remember her by purchasing Grand Manan Lobster from the Lobster Lady.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, July 3 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in Barbie’s memory can be made to the Lung Association or the Cancer Society.
