At the Kings County Memorial Hospital, the passing of Carter VanIderstine, of Montague, formerly of Peters Road, devoted husband of 58 years to Shirley VanIderstine (nee Fraser), occurred on Monday, June 30, 2014, with family by his side.
Born March 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Edgar and Alma (Jenkins) VanIderstine. Carter is survived by his loving children, Alan (Noreen) VanIderstine, Susan (Donald) Richards, Sharon MacKinnon (John), Robert (Lisa) VanIderstine; cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Judson, Jordan Richards (Kim), Ashton (Devon) Rowe, Alisha VanIderstine (Daryl), Sarah VanIderstine (Aidan), Fraser VanIderstine, Carter VanIderstine, Alexa Judson, Willow Rowe, Carlee Robinson, Kadin Creed; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Carter was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Johnson, and brother, Bob VanIderstine.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home, from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 4, 2014, at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in the Peters Road Cemetery. Visiting hours on Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated.
St. Andrew’s Lodge #13 will hold a Masonic Memorial Service at the funeral home on Thursday July 3, 2014, at 9 p.m.
