George Thomas Gaskell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Gaskell on June 30, 2014 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
George was the son of the late Thomas and Effie (Simmons) Gaskell.
He was employed at Glace Bay recycling for the last 10 years and before that he was a crossing guard for the CBRM for over 20 years.
George is survived by brother, Peter (Peggy) Gaskell, Glace Bay; sister, Delsie (Sandy) Simms, Glace Bay; nephews, Sandy, Ryan and Adam, nieces, Heather and Holly.
There will be no visitation, service will be held on July 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel, 71 Union St., Glace Bay with interment at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to make a special thank you to the staff of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, Dr. Khodadad, Dr. Sharieff, the nursing staff of Glace Bay Hospital 3rd & 4th floor, doctors and nurses of Palliative Care.
Donations may be made to Cape Breton Cancer Centre or palliative care.
