The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, of Walter Thomas Ridler of Summerside, formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 88 years old. Walter was born on November 16, 1925, in Roland, Manitoba, of the late Walter and Lillian (nee Buffy) Ridler. Beloved husband of the late Esther (nee Stewart) Ridler. Loving father of Duncan (Pat) Ridler of Cranbrook, BC, Stewart (Sarah) of Linklettter, P.E.I., and Mavis Ridler of Winnipeg, MB. Also lovingly remembered by 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Walter is survived by his brothers Jerry and Ronald and sister Lorraine Steele. Besides his parents and wife, Walter was predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Arthur and sister Doris White. At Walter's request cremation has taken place with a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's name to the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
