M. Bradford “Buzz” Hall, 81 of Venice, Florida, and Stanley Bridge, P.E.I., passed away peacefully, May 15, 2014. He was a summer resident of Prince Edward Island since 1969. He was born in Livermore Falls, Maine, and earned a degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Maine. He married Eleanor Jean Turner, from Saint John, N.B., (she was a Holder). Following her death on June 16, 1999, Buzz married Lois Jean (Eastman) Barrett. In a 28-year career for Nashua Corporation, he led the development and licensing of carbonless paper technology around the world. With CEO, Bill Conway, Buzz led some of the first projects with Dr. W. Edwards Deming on statistical process control. The story of this work was featured in the NBC White Paper “If Japan Can Why Can’t We?” With great joy Buzz played the trumpet. He performed with the Presumpscot River Bottom Boys, a Dixieland Jazz Band, for over 50 years, recording two albums, performing at Expo 67 and across Europe. On P.E.I. he was a proud member of the Miscouche Band and a joy of each summer was performing in the Community Clash Band during the Old Home Week parade for many years. Music and theatre were a big part of his life on the Island. Highlights when he was back home each summer included College of Piping performances, Indian River Festival, Victoria Playhouse and listening to Lennie Gallant at Rendez-vous Rustico. For 28 years he served at the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal), Nashua, New Hampshire, on the Vestry, choir and as a lay-reader. Buzz loved travelling; he went on over 40 cruises all over the world. He was also an avid New England Patriots fan where he had season tickets for many years and attended three of their Super Bowls. He is pre-deceased by his wife Eleanor Jean (Turner) Hall, and his parents Hazel Louise (Emerson) Hall and Jonathon Moody Hall of Fryeburg, Maine. He is survived by his loving wife Lois Jean (Eastman) Hall, of Venice, Florida, and Stanley Bridge, P.E.I.; his sister, Dorothy (Hall) Stickland of Port Richey, Florida; two sons, Doug (Debbie) Hall of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bruce (Beth) Hall of Sugar Land, Texas; one daughter, Pamela (Mark) Twist of Belgrade, Maine; granddaughters Kristyn Hall of Washington, D.C.; Tori Hall of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Jill Twist of Belgrade, Maine; grandsons Brad Hall of Cincinnati, Ohio, Matt Twist of Orono, Maine, Andrew Hall of Austin, Texas; and Zachary Hall and Garrett Hall of Sugar Land, Texas; stepsons Jeff Barrett of Winchester, New Hampshire; Jim Barrett of Manchester, New Hampshire; and one stepdaughter, Janet (Barrett) Steeves of Milford, New Hampshire; ten stepgrandchildren. Prince Edward Island relatives include Debbie and Robert Hughes of Stratford. Resting at Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Saturday, July 5, then to St. Thomas Anglican Church, Springbrook, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Interment in the St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Springbrook. No visiting hours by family request. A reception will be held following the service.
