LESLIE, MARIE P. - Marie P. Leslie, 90, of Canterbury Hall and formerly of Munroe St., Riverview, with her loving family by her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, July 4, 2014. Born in Kettering, England she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie (Wallis) Enfield. Marie immigrated to Canada in 1956, arriving at Pier 51 (Halifax) to be reunited with her husband Ken who passed away in 1972. She was a former employee for the NB Liquor Commission Store #63 for 15 years. She was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor, Veterans’ Health Centre and the Westmorland Chapter IODE (The Standard Bearer for Union Jack Flag). Marie was a member of the War Brides Association of Canada, Air Force Veterans Club of Moncton, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and The Moncton Flying Club. Marie will be sadly missed by her sons, Chris (Nicole) of Riverview and David (Louise) of Ottawa, ON; precious grandchildren, Jennifer of Edmonton, AB, Christopher (Natalie) of Riverview, Melissa (Adam) of Moncton, Andrew of Edmonton, AB, Michelle of Calgary, AB; step grandchildren, Patrick Boisvert and Rachel Boisvert; cherished great grandchildren, Samuel, Alexis and Wyatt and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband, Ken Leslie (1972).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service to be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 1:30 pm with The Rev’d Douglas Painter officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
