Andrew George Kennedy - age 7, of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 in the IWK Health Centre, Halifax. Born in Kentville, he was a son of George Kennedy and Janet Fairclough, Cambridge. A very busy 7 year old, he played soccer and especially loved sleep over’s. Card games were also among his favourites and he was especially fond of trucks and cows. He loved the outdoors, gardening and fishing. He was very interested in the RCMP (of which he was an honourary Staff Sergeant of the New Minas Detachment), the fire department and EHS. Family was very important to him and he always wanted to help people. He travelled to Niagara Falls through the Children’s Wish Foundation, where pancakes were his favourite meal. He was a Grade 1 student, loved school and enjoyed many rides with his friends. He was well known for his great smile that would brighten anyone’s day. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Leigh Andrea (age 16 months) and a brother, Robert Thomas (age 11 years), both at home; paternal grandparents, Terry and Ora Belle Kennedy, Kentville; maternal grandfather, Clem Fairclough (partner, Beth Moore), Coldbrook; aunts, uncles and cousins; various extended family members. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Edith Fairclough. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, Reverend Doctor John McNally officiating. No flowers, by request. Donations in memory may be made to Child Life Department Care of the IWK Foundation or the Brain Child, Maritime Chapter for the IWK brain tumor use.
