Gloria Baker

Born In: Pouce Coupe, British Columbia, Canada
Born: August 23rd, 1956

Passed in: Leader, Saskatchewan, Canada
Passed on: May 10th, 2014

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, Gloria Marian Baker (Yake).
Gloria was born August 23, 1956 in Pouce Coupe, BC and passed away peacefully and surrounded by her
family on May 10, 2014 in Leader, SK.
Gloria is survived by her parents Mary and John Campbell; ever loving husband and partner in life of 33 years, Wally Baker; son Ab (Amanda) Baker and grandsons Maximus and Jett; daughter Ivy (Darcy) Ausmus and grandsons Jace and Cooper; Her sisters Bea (Mike) Galliazzo and Evelyn (Rhynn) Eggers; Brothers Albert Yake and Bill
(Jodi) Campbell as well as numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and very close friends. Gloria was predeceased by her biological father Albert Yake when she was an infant and by her loving son Wally Jr. in 1995.
Gloria grew up in the area of Fort St. John, BC and met Wally in Fort Nelson, BC where they fell in love and quickly married in 1980. Wally relocated for work in 1990 so the entire family moved to Burstall, SK where they settled and raised their family. Wally and Gloria were again on the move in 2006 as Wally’s work took them to Cold Lake, AB, although they still maintained their home in Burstall. Gloria had a love of television, games and books and was an avid card player, often spending her days beating Wally at whatever game they decided to play that day.
Her greatest joy in life though was spending time with her family. Her grandsons were the centre of her universe and both her and Wally loved to spend time with them and spoil them as only grandparents can. Special thanks go out to the many doctors and nurses who looked after Gloria in her last year and especially the staff at Leader Hospital
who went above and beyond in looking after her.
In lieu of flowers, Gloria has requested that a donation in her memory be made to their local SPCA or Food Bank. Binkley’s Funeral Service, Maple Creek and Leader, in charge
of arrangements. 306-662-2292, 306-628-3644
