Passed on: July 8th, 2014

TRENTON – Vivian Mina Morton, age 85, of the Ivy Terrace Nursing Home, formerly of Fifth St., Trenton, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Ivy Terrace Nursing Home.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George and Edna (MacPherson) Reynolds.
Her family was her pride and joy. She made each of us feel like a blessing in her life, and her love was unwavering. She was known to show her love for others by cooking their favorite dishes or desserts. She enjoyed knitting beautiful gifts for every type of occasion. If she wasn’t busy cooking in the kitchen, you would likely find her knitting. She treasured all of her friendships, but spoke with extra affection for the girls in her card club, and she looked forward to their regular get-togethers over the years. She enjoyed square dancing with her husband David, and together they became the first Presidents of the Triple M Square Dancers. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Goodman’s for a number of years. But what Vivian is most known for is her dedication to God, and living her life in service to others. She served as a Sunday school teacher at the First United Church in Trenton for 35 years. She was a long time member of the Mary Unit of the UCW and she was also an Honorary Elder.
She is survived by daughters: Donna Peart, Trenton; Heather (Joe) Terris, Trenton; sons: Allen (Judy), Little Harbour; Stephen (Mary), Caribou; Glenn (Janet), New Glasgow; grandchildren: Greg, Christopher, Adam, Aaron, Katherine, Ashley, Tom, Natalie, David and Connor; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Mason, PEI.
She was predeceased by husband David Archibald Morton, sisters, Shirley MacAulay and Helen Reynolds; brother, Clarence; son-in-law, Bill Peart.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday in First United Church, Trenton, with Rev. Alfred Woodworth officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to First United Church, Parkinson Society or C.H.A.D.
