MAILLET, MARIE FLORENCE - Marie Florence Maillet, wife of the late J. Lionel Maillet passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Born on July 27, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Robchaud) Doiron. A Mother to Robert (Mary Ellen) and Sandra (Robert) Keeffe. Loving Mémère to Natalie (Shawn) Cogswell, Rachel (Rob) Griffith, David (Kathleen Archer) Maillet and Susan Keeffe. Proud Grand-mémère to Jordan Sophia Cogswell. Also Survived by her sister, Hélène Thibodeau of Gardner, Mass.; sister-in-law, Lucienne Doiron of Montreal; brother-in-law Roger Maillet of Bouctouce and sister-in-law Pauline Maillet of Toronto. Survived also by many nieces and nephews who were very special to her. Florence had many close friends especially Linda Kingston who is considered part of her family. She was employed by the DVA Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital from 1967 to 1993. She was a founding member of the 30 UP Club and a member of the French Society of the Virgin Mary. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers Ernest (infant), Aimable, Emile and Raymond.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm and Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Assumption on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:00am. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception to follow the services at the Assumption Center. Donations made to the Kidney Foundation or to Bobby’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
