Mary Ellen MacLeod, 53, of the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, passed away July 8, 2014 at the home.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Roderick and Helen (Paul) Marshall.
She is survived by a daughter Mary Agnes “Meme” Prosper, Pictou Landing First Nation; sons Corey Paul, Ont; and Joseph Prosper, Shubenacadie; grandchildren: Cameron, Alyssa, Lacy, Logan and John; special family Melvina Paul and Theodore Paul; brothers and sisters: Martin (Mary T.) Cremo, Robert (Mary) Sylliboy, Mooney (Pauline) Francis, Basil Paul, Alfred (Jessica) Paul, Catherine (Clayton) Dennis, Martha (David) Whittal, Gloria Marshall, Frank Sylliboy, Jeannie (David) Rose, David Francis, Herman Francis, Cyrus Francis, Lucy Francis, Georgina Francis and Terry Joe Nicholas, many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Delores Pictou and Charlene Nicholas.
Her remains will rest at the home of her daughter at 203 Beach Road, Pictou Landing First Nation after 4 p.m. Thursday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Pictou Landing First Nation with Father Gary MacPherson presiding. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery.
