Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Complex with his loving family by his side on July 8, 2014 at the age of 74. Predeceased by his sons Wayne and Billy; Grandparents John and Margaret Ellen Penton; Mother Julia Murphy; and Step-sister Margaret Murphy. Left to celebrate his life with loving memories are his wife of 55 years Doreen (nee Mullett); his children James (Paula) and Michelle (Ken); his precious grandchildren who he loved and had many special moment's with, Jennifer - forever Pop's girl (Matthew), Stephen, David, Benjamin and Makayla; great-grandson Michael whom he loved and treasured dearly; sisters-in-law Rose (Lou) Porter and Mary (Cecil) Green of Burin; nephew Robert; special friends Bob and Jenny Eustace; as well as many other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Angela Hyde, Dr. Michael Paul, and the nursing staff of the 4th floor North A&B, especially to nurses Jennifer and Wanda who were tremendously helpful and comforting during his passing. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay, on Thursday from 5 -9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. from St. Agnes Church, Pouch Cove. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the NICU unit at the Janeway, where his great grandson had spent some time when born.
