FORBES, Cyril Robert – Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, on December 30, 2008 at Chancellor Park Nursing Home, Cyril Robert Forbes, age 86 years. Left to celebrate his life, his wife of 59 years, Margaret (Peg) (nee Bennett); sons Robert (Georgia) Forbes, C.B.S., N.L.; Glen (Agatha) Forbes, Mt. Pearl, N.L.; Donald (Pam) Forbes, Jakarta, Indonesia; his daughter Susan (Bill) Sharpe, St. John’s, N.L.; his brother Jim (Noreen) Forbes, Gander, N.L.; his cherished seven grandchildren Craig Forbes, Gillian (Marc) Violette, Lisa Forbes, Ashley Forbes, Jason Forbes, David Forbes and Emma Forbes and three great-grandchildren Joshua, Hayley and Lily Forbes. Also a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. Cyril was a respected Professional Engineer in Newfoundland and retired from his company of Bishop and Forbes in 1972. He was a life member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Newfoundland and Labrador. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation from 2to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral service to take place on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in the General Protestant Cemetery, Waterford Bridge Road.
