Michael Earle Brown
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Michael Earle Brown age 56, of Amherst, NS, announce his passing on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Springhill, NS he was the son of William and Beverly (DeBaie) Brown of Amherst.
In his early years Mike worked in the automotive industry and was a volunteer firefighter, later becoming a fulltime firefighter. He then took the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program and was employed at East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Mike enjoyed fishing, taking him on trips to Newfoundland and northern Quebec. He also enjoyed NASCAR, even getting a ride-along during a recent trip to Florida. In his later years, his passion was spending time at the cottage with his grandchildren. He possessed a comedic spirit and always strove to make others smile.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Carolyn “Kay” (Strang) Brown, their children Christopher (Tawnia) of Windsor, NS, Cindy (Richard) St. Amand of Ottawa, Cara Brown of Tidnish, NS and Dr. Adam (Carolyn) Brown of Bedford, 6 grandchildren, brothers John (Bonnie) and Paul (Heather) both of Amherst and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was predeceased by a brother Kenneth.
At Mike’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Memorial donations in Mike’s memory may be made to East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash or to the charity of your choice.
